SolarDuck, in partnership with Green Arrow Capital and New Developments, announces plans to develop a groundbreaking offshore hybrid wind-solar farm in the Gulf of Taranto. This ambitious project, named the Corigliano offshore hybrid wind-solar farm, aims to deploy a 120MW offshore floating photovoltaic (OFPV) system integrated with a 420MW floating offshore wind farm. Situated off the coast of Corigliano-Rossano in Calabria, Italy, the site is slated to host 28 floating turbines, showcasing a remarkable fusion of solar and wind energy technologies.
What sets this project apart is SolarDuck's innovative elevated platform technology, which enables the deployment of PV panels even in significant wave heights while ensuring a safe working environment for maintenance activities and minimizing environmental impact. By harnessing the complementarity of wind and solar energy resources, the collaboration promises to pave the way for a more efficient and sustainable approach to offshore renewable energy generation.
Currently undergoing permitting processes, the Corigliano offshore hybrid wind-solar farm is projected to achieve Commercial Operation Date (COD) by 2028.
