Certek, an employee-owned investment group, has acquired GEV Wind Power, a global provider of wind turbine maintenance and inspection services, in a deal described as a “landmark” by both parties.
Headquartered in East Yorkshire, England, GEV offers inspection, monitoring, rope-access, and maintenance services for onshore and offshore wind turbines. The company operates across four continents, completing over 300 projects annually with more than 500 field technicians.
With this acquisition, Certek’s pro-forma group revenue will exceed £100 million. The firm partnered with Macquarie Capital Principal Finance, part of Macquarie Group, to help fund the transaction.
Certek, founded in 2024 by David Harrison, focuses on investing in companies with strong regulatory and safety standards. The company plans to support GEV’s growth across its key markets and continue backing its existing leadership team, including CEO David Fletcher, who has led the company’s global expansion over the past 15 years.
Fletcher acknowledged the critical role GEV plays in the energy transition and thanked former investor Bridges Fund Management, which supported the company through acquisitions in Denmark and Australia.
The deal is set to accelerate GEV’s development, enhancing its client infrastructure and expanding its presence in the global clean energy supply chain.
