GenH2, an industry leader in hydrogen infrastructure solutions, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ZeroAvia, a hydrogen-electric propulsion developer, to collaborate on developing liquid hydrogen aviation infrastructure solutions for airports. This partnership aims to pave the way for scalable and clean hydrogen-powered aviation, replacing conventional combustion engines with zero-emission technology.
ZeroAvia is at the forefront of developing practical zero-emission aviation powertrains, utilizing hydrogen-electric engines to generate electricity from hydrogen fuel and power electric motors for aircraft propulsion. By retrofitting existing airframes and partnering with clean-sheet designers, ZeroAvia plans to certify its ZA600, a 600kW engine for 9-19 seat aircraft, as early as 2025. They also aim to certify the ZA2000 engine, designed for up to 80 seat regional turboprops, by 2027. GenH2, known for their liquefaction, storage, and dispensing systems, will provide airside LH2 infrastructure solutions, enabling dedicated ground support for ZeroAvia's hydrogen-electric aircraft and facilitating the adoption of advanced clean energy in aviation.
