Ford and Resideo Technologies, Inc. have embarked on an unprecedented joint venture, introducing the "EV-Home Power Partnership". This pioneering simulation project aims to explore the potential of electric vehicle (EV) batteries to optimize home energy management, offering F-150 Lightning owners the prospect of monthly electric bill savings, increased comfort, and more efficient energy use.
In a groundbreaking collaboration, Ford and Resideo are leveraging Ford’s Intelligent Backup Power technology, the first-of-its-kind for a full-size electric truck in North America. The simulation project investigates how Resideo's smart thermostats can be integrated with the F-150 Lightning's battery to intelligently power home heating and cooling systems. The goal is to assess how this coordination can reduce overall home energy needs during grid stress, minimize usage during peak hours, and potentially tap into cleaner energy sources.
