National Grid has unveiled the Great Grid Partnership, a groundbreaking enterprise model aimed at revitalizing the UK supply chain and addressing skills shortages. Seven industry partners have been named to support the delivery of nine Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) projects, marking a significant step in The Great Grid Upgrade initiative.
This pioneering partnership brings together National Grid and its supply chain partners, including design and consenting service providers AECOM Arup (JV) and WSP, alongside construction partners Laing O’Rourke, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, Morrison Energy Services, Murphy, and Omexom / Taylor Woodrow (OTW). By pooling resources and expertise, the collaboration seeks to expedite the rollout of essential national electricity infrastructure, driving value for consumers and local communities.
