LS ELECTRIC has officially completed its Bastrop Campus in Texas, marking a major step in its strategy to grow within the North American power equipment market.
The company held a completion ceremony on April 14, attended by over 200 people, including Chairman Koo Ja-kyun, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and local officials. The new site is located on a 46,000㎡ property and includes facilities for production, research, and engineering.
The Bastrop Campus will manufacture medium- and low-voltage power equipment, including switchgear and transformers. It will serve as a key base for supplying local data centers and addressing growing demand for power infrastructure in the U.S.
By localizing production, LS ELECTRIC aims to reduce tariff exposure and supply chain risks. The company also plans to invest an additional $240 million by 2030 to expand the site, hire local staff, and scale operations.
Alongside its MCM Engineering II subsidiary in Utah, the Bastrop facility will anchor the company’s dual-hub approach in North America. Last year, LS ELECTRIC reported 1.3 trillion KRW ($917 million) in North American revenue and secured a 160 billion KRW ($112.8 million) deal with a major tech company.
An LS ELECTRIC spokesperson said the facility enables faster delivery and stronger compliance with U.S. trade policies.
