
The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) has strengthened power infrastructure in the Medchal zone of Telangana, India, ensuring a reliable electricity supply as demand surges ahead of summer.
With power consumption rising 25-30% annually, areas such as Medchal, Bowrampet, Ameenpur, Bachupally, and KPHB faced supply issues last year. In response, TGSPDCL, which manages electricity distribution across southern Telangana, has launched a large-scale upgrade.
The initiative includes:
- 62 new power transformers
- 1,081 distribution transformers
- 243 new 11 kV feeders
- 37 new 33 kV feeders
- 15 new 33/11 kV substations
Musharraf Ali Faruqui, the company's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), recently inspected the Habsiguda, Medchal, and Sangareddy circles and inaugurated key installations, including a 12.5 MVA power transformer at the Sai Nagar substation in Habsiguda and the 33 kV Pragathi Nagar feeder in Bowrampet.
These enhancements are part of TGSPDCL’s ongoing efforts to improve power reliability in Telangana, India, benefiting both residential and industrial consumers.
