In response to the recent missile strike by Russia that destroyed all electrical equipment at the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv, the DTEK energy company has delivered three temporary transformer substations to ensure continuous power supply to the hospital's new building. Yuriy Herasko, the distribution networks department manager at DTEK Kyiv Power Grids, shared this update with Ukrinform.
"The electrical equipment belonging to the hospital has been completely destroyed and will most likely be dismantled... Our task now is to implement a temporary scheme to power the new hospital building. This scheme will be in place until the constant scheme is restored. DTEK has delivered temporary transformer substations to Okhmatdyt, there will be three of them, to temporarily power the new hospital building. All critical equipment will be powered, including ventilation, elevators, intensive care - all vital equipment,” Herasko said.
He further mentioned that the new building has been switched to backup power systems but did not provide a specific timeframe for the permanent restoration of power.
