Hammond Power Solutions (HPS), a leading manufacturer of dry-type, cast resin transformers, and related magnetics, has announced plans to invest $20 million over the next two years to expand its production capabilities. This move is in response to the increasing demand for products driven by the electrification of the economy.
The investment will focus on expanding production at HPS's Monterrey facility, enabling the company to build custom power transformers and alleviate existing capacity bottlenecks. Adrian Thomas, CEO of Hammond Power Solutions, stated, "These investments will be made over the course of 2024 and 2025 to expand production in Monterrey to build custom power transformers, which will remove current capacity bottlenecks and add significantly to our revenue capacity."
This expansion is part of HPS's broader strategy to enhance its power transformer portfolio, which serves various commercial and industrial markets. Since 2022, the company has invested approximately $80 million in increasing capacity across its product range, with the Monterrey facility being the most recent focus.
